Located in the heart of the Beautiful Upper Yarra Valley, Maitripa Centre is an hour and a quarter easy drive from Melbourne CBD.
Surrounded by hundreds of acres of State and National forest, Maitripa Centre's 53 acres of forest and well established gardens are an ideal venue in which to conduct retreats, workshops, conferences and yoga intensives.
With 50 newly renovated bedrooms (singles, doubles and dorms) Maitripa Centre is able to accommodate 67 participants with comfort while still retaining its sense of space and tranquillity. All bedrooms are newly renovated.
Facilities also include:
- Dogens Kitchen serving coffee, cake, and snacks daily
- Shabda Bookshop, stocking Buddhist and related titles
- Full catering or self-catering options
- Fully equipped commercial kitchen
- Two large meditation/yoga/conference rooms

Maitripa Centre boasts a rich diversity of native Australian wildlife, the grounds being home to wombats, wallabies, deer and beautiful red and green King Parrots. The grounds also host a number of rare and elusive Lyrebirds, famous for their extraordinary ability to mimic almost any sound. You might even catch a glimpse of the occasional deer that live in the dense forest surrounding the Centre.
The delights of the Yarra Valley’s wineries, restaurants, the Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary and of course the beautiful historic Healesville township are only five minutes drive away.
